Welcome
Community Care is bringing the National Children and Adult Services Conference live to your desktop.
From here you will be able to access webcasts from the National Children and Adult Services conference which is to be held on Wednesday 18th October to Friday 20th October in Brighton. You will be able to watch webcasts of the main sessions of the conference live or after the event from the comfort of your own office.
The theme of this year's conference is 'New beginnings: firm foundations' and key speakers include education secretary Alan Johnson and health secretary Patricia Hewitt. In addition, the King's Fund's Niall Dickson, Tory shadow minister for children and health Tim Loughton and Steve Webb, the Liberal Democrat shadow minister for health, will also be speaking at the conference.
Each speech will indicate whether it is yet to be broadcast, currently being delivered or completed.
What is a webcast?
A webcast is basically a transmission of audio and video over the internet. Video cameras at the main Oxford Hall at the conference capture the live information and send it to a central server, which in turn sends it to anyone that would like to view the event. Through the use of your internet connection (either broadband or via a dial-up modem) and Real's free player you can view the meetings live from the comfort of your own home or office.
Should you wish to view any of the speeches after the event, you can view the archive of the webcast.
